Implementation of Study Board Media to Improve Students’ Literacy at SDN Kaliombo

The research based on observations and teaching experiences, especially on the implementation of study board media to improve students’ literacy skill. In learning, literacy is one of the most important part which it can lead students to get better understanding to other skills. Literacy and numeration become abilities that elementary school student must have. The purpose of this goal is that student able to develop other skills in solving problems they face in surrounding. In fact, students in elementary school still have lack of literacy and numeration skills these days, even though the government already give the statement of the importance of literacy and numeration abilities since 2016. So, we need to introduce to students learning media that is easy for them to understand and to obtain. Therefore, this article discusses the implementation of study board media for students in grade 5 elementary school students. Additionally, the use of interesting media for young learners is highly recommended to draw their attention. The objectives are to introduce to students that literacy is not hard to understand and to share ideas with other English teachers in improving student’s literacy ability in elementary school. It is concluded that this study finds the use of study board media can make young learners more interested in the teaching materials and help develop their literacy skills.
