Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a curriculum with diverse and more content-appropriate incurricular learning, giving students sufficient time to deepen concepts. The implementation of an independent curriculum, in addition to being able to provide answers to various problems, especially the quality of the Indonesian population and previous educational problems, can also specifically encourage student growth and development in accordance with their learning, interests and talents and hidden natural needs. One of the learning models recommended in the independent curriculum is the Discovery Learning model. Based on interviews conducted by researchers during the Introduction to the School Environment activity and the study of literature relevant to this research, teachers and students still experience difficulties in applying the Discovery Learning learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the challenges of applying the Discovery Learning model in learning mathematics.  This research uses Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which is a type of method that aims to identify, evaluate and interpret research findings related to a particular research question, topic or problem as a whole. Based on the results of the research, it is concluded that the syntax or steps of the Discovery Learning learning model have been applied in the learning process even though it is not optimal.
