Teaching and learning is an activity that involves teachers and students. Success in the teaching and learning process is influenced by students' learning motivation. Motivation is one factor that can encourage students to want to learn. Learning motivation can be classified into two, namely intrinsic motivation (a motivation that arises from within the student himself, which can encourage him to act) and extrinsic motivation (motivation that comes from outside the individual student which encourages him to carry out learning activities). Teachers who act as mentors must be willing and able to prioritize their students above other interests. Teachers must also be able to develop motivation and create effective learning in the classroom. In this article the author wants to explain the rationale for symbolic modeling techniques to increase student learning motivation.
