Abstract

Maraknya kehidupan masyarakat yang menggunakan smartphone menimbulkan peralihan gaya hidup, salah satunya belanja online. Semakin banyak toko online ataupun marketplace memudahkan seseorang memenuhi kebutuhan mereka tanpa harus keluar rumah. Dengan adanya tingkat penjualan di sebuah situs marketplace yang semakin tinggi,  membuat seorang  penjual membutuhkan jasa pengiriman untuk memudahkan kinerja mereka. Di Indonesia istilah jasa pengiriman barang umumnya kita sebut dengan nama kurir. Kurir bertugas mengantar barang sesuai alamat penerima yang tertera. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian rancang bangun marketplace sikmajo yang didesain untuk komunitas IKM Jombang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu merancang mekanisme sistem pendaftaran kurir berbasis self service technology pada marketplace sikmajo yang didesain untuk komunitas IKM Jombang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan Research and Development yang didefinisikan sebagai metode penelitian yang sistematis, yang bertujuan diarahkan untuk  mengembangkan dan  menyempurnakan produk yang telah ada. Self service technology merupakan suatu teknologi yang memungkinkan seseorang melakukan pelayanan sendiri tanpa bergantung dengan orang lain. Self service technology dipilih dengan harapan mampu menekan biaya operasional pengelolaan marketplace sikmajo. Dengan adanya sistem ini diharapkan dapat menambah lapangan pekerjaan bagi seseorang.  Sehingga proses bisnis online pun akan berkembang pesat.
