Rancang Bangun mesin Roasting Biji Kopi Kapasitas 50 Kg

Proses roasting merupakan tahapan penting dalam pengolahan kopi karena berpengaruh terhadap kualitas aroma, rasa, dan warna biji kopi. Namun, sebagian pelaku usaha masih menggunakan sistem roasting konvensional yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam efisiensi dan pengendalian suhu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang mesin roasting biji kopi berkapasitas 50 kg guna meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas proses penyangraian pada skala usaha kecil dan menengah. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, studi literatur, perumusan masalah, desain dan perhitungan teknis, perakitan alat, serta pengujian kinerja. Mesin yang dirancang menggunakan motor listrik 1 HP dengan putaran 1400 rpm, gearbox rasio 1:30, dan sistem pemanas berbahan bakar LPG. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan putaran drum roasting sebesar 33,33 rpm. Pengujian kinerja menunjukkan mesin mampu menyangrai 50 kg biji kopi dalam waktu 58 menit pada suhu stabil sekitar 225°C. Mesin yang dirancang mampu bekerja secara efektif, menghasilkan proses penyangraian yang lebih merata, serta mendukung peningkatan kapasitas produksi UMKM kopi.
