Perancangan Tabung Sandpot Pada Proses Sand Blasting

Abstrak— Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan ketidakstabilan aliran media abrasif pada proses sand blasting di bengkel dan industri kecil akibat keterbatasan desain dan kapasitas tabung sandpot. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang tabung sandpot berukuran ringkas yang mampu menghasilkan aliran media abrasif secara stabil serta mengevaluasi kinerjanya sebagai tahap persiapan sebelum pengecatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode perancangan melalui tahap desain, pemodelan 3D, perakitan, dan pengujian kinerja yang meliputi uji faktor kerja dan uji kapasitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tabung sandpot dengan volume 15,19 liter dan kapasitas kerja 80% mampu menampung 18,5 kg pasir silika 60–30 mesh dan beroperasi stabil pada tekanan 40 Psi selama ±8 menit tanpa penyumbatan maupun fluktuasi tekanan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa desain sandpot yang dirancang efektif, efisien, dan layak diterapkan pada bengkel serta industri kecil.
