Analisis Keretakan Pada Spring Plate Dryer Menggunakan Metode Liquid Penetrant Test Di Pt Petrokimia Gresik

Spring plate dryer merupakan salah satu komponen penting pada sistem pengering di PT Petrokimia Gresik yang bekerja pada kondisi beban mekanis dan temperatur operasi tinggi sehingga berpotensi mengalami keretakan akibat kelelahan material maupun tegangan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keretakan yang terjadi pada spring plate dryer menggunakan metode Liquid Penetrant Test (LPT) sebagai metode Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Pengujian dilakukan melalui tahapan pembersihan permukaan (cleaning), aplikasi cairan penetran, waktu penetrasi (dwell time), pembersihan kelebihan penetran, aplikasi developer, dan interpretasi indikasi retak yang muncul pada permukaan material. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa metode LPT mampu mengidentifikasi retakan terbuka pada permukaan sambungan las dan area yang mengalami konsentrasi tegangan. Indikasi retakan yang teramati selanjutnya dianalisis berdasarkan bentuk, ukuran, dan lokasi untuk menentukan tingkat keparahan serta potensi kegagalan komponen. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode LPT efektif digunakan sebagai teknik inspeksi dini untuk mendukung program pemeliharaan preventif, meningkatkan keandalan peralatan, serta meminimalkan risiko kerusakan yang dapat mengganggu proses produksi di PT Petrokimia Gresik.
