Analisis Perbandingan Pengaruh Tekanan Udara Terhadap Kinerja Sand blasting Pada Media Aplikasi Material Aluminium

Abstrak—Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi tekanan udara kompresor terhadap kinerja proses sand blasting pada material aluminium yang banyak digunakan pada komponen mesin sepeda motor. Topik ini penting karena kualitas pembersihan dan kondisi permukaan hasil sand blasting sangat dipengaruhi oleh tekanan udara serta jenis media abrasif yang digunakan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pengujian eksperimental dengan variasi tekanan udara 30 Psi, 40 PSI, dan 50 Psi serta dua jenis media abrasif, yaitu pasir silika dan pasir garnet. Kinerja proses dievaluasi berdasarkan nilai kekasaran permukaan yang diukur menggunakan Surface Roughness Tester. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan tekanan udara pada pasir silika meningkatkan kekasaran permukaan, sedangkan pada pasir garnet terjadi penurunan kekasaran pada tekanan 50 Psi. Nilai kekasaran tertinggi diperoleh pada pasir silika tekanan 50 Psi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi tekanan udara dan media abrasif berperan penting dalam menentukan kualitas permukaan aluminium hasil sand blasting.
