Abstract

Admission of New Elementary School Students (PPDB) for the 2024-2025 school year requires, among other things, that priority be given to those aged 7 years or at least 6 years old as of July 1 of the current year. The age exception will be 5 years 6 months as of July 1 of the current year for prospective students who have intelligence and/or special talents. This exception is understandable considering that those who have special intelligence or talents include children with special needs. The specificity is not only age requirements but also educational services in terms of time, competence, materials, techniques, situations and conditions, as well as components of the delivery system. Identifying children's talents is important as a basis for providing educational services so that their gifted potential can develop optimally and successfully achieve excellence in achievement. Gifted child education has a strong philosophical and juridical conceptual foundation so it needs to receive attention at the implementation level.
