The development of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has transformed academic writing practices in higher education. However, existing studies mainly focus on the benefits and risks of AI use, while limited attention has been given to how humans and AI collaboratively produce academic knowledge. This study aims to examine Human-AI Collaboration in faculty academic writing, identify the distribution of cognitive roles between humans and GenAI, and develop a conceptual model that supports both academic productivity and research integrity. A qualitative approach employing an Integrative Literature Review was used to analyze studies published between 2022 and 2026. Thematic synthesis was conducted on literature related to Generative AI, Human-AI Collaboration, Augmented Intelligence, Responsible AI, and academic writing. The findings reveal that GenAI has evolved from a technical writing assistant into a cognitive partner that supports idea generation, knowledge processing, manuscript development, and revision. The study proposes a conceptual Human-AI Collaboration model in which humans retain epistemic control through human oversight, while GenAI functions as an augmentative system. The model highlights that academic productivity, research integrity, and Responsible AI are interconnected dimensions of knowledge production in the GenAI era
