Penanaman TOGA sebagai Penghijauan Produktif di Kelurahan Jagalan Kediri
Main Article Content
Abstract
This community service activity aimed to optimize limited residential land into productive green areas through the cultivation of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) in RW 01, Jagalan Village. The program was initiated due to the limited use of medicinal plants within the community and the continued reliance on chemical medicines for minor health issues. The method employed a qualitative approach consisting of coordination with local authorities, site observation, plant selection, planting implementation, maintenance, and evaluation. The activity involved university students and active participation from local residents. The results showed that previously underutilized land could be transformed into functional green spaces. The plants cultivated included galangal, lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, pandan leaves, kaffir lime, kencur, and Dayak onion. The program contributed positively by improving environmental aesthetics, increasing the availability of family medicinal plants, and enhancing community knowledge regarding the use of TOGA as part of an environmentally based healthy lifestyle.
