Abstract
The Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) is a form of student community service aimed at helping solve problems in the village environment while increasing community empowerment. This program is implemented in Pesantren Village, Kediri City with a focus on food security through a simple aquaponic method using used gallon containers with soil media and a wick absorption system. Aquaponics is a cultivation system that combines aquaculture (fish farming) with hydroponics (plant cultivation). This activity aims to provide education to the community about aquaponics and the application of the zero waste concept through the use of used gallons as cultivation containers. The community service methods used include field observations, interviews with the community, as well as counseling and direct practice in making simple aquaponics. The results of the community service activities show an increase in public understanding and awareness of the use of used gallons and the importance of food security. Thus, this KKN-T program has a positive impact on waste management and increasing community food security.
